COMMENTS
25 land screw, last week, back to back in games 2 and 3. Each had a probability of around 3 percent, so for both games to be utterly ruined as they were, it is about 0.09% or 9 times per every 10,000 games. (As an aside, out of 16 or so matches, the Cloudpost deck has lost only twice; once to a timeout in the mirror, and once to literally not being able to play spells. Which person is known for complaining about Cloudpost again?)

As a comparison, Generalissimo has taken a short hiatus until returning back last week, and the previous time he played, Standard subformat, around 2 months or something ago, I got mana screwed all 3 games in a row against him, culminating in game 3 with two lands in the top 22 cards (ran 22 lands). That occurrence alone, 2 lands in the top 22 cards, happens 3 times every 10,000 games. I am not even mentioning the other abnormalities in that game 3, or in the prior games 1 and 2 where I was also mana screwed and kept receiving (and re-receiving after mulliganing) manaless hands. That match, whilst 2-0, was being played for a seasonal hat trick, where I had gone undefeated in the previous two tournaments.

So of course, invariably and incontrovertibly cursed, it should come as no surprise my luck in the last 3 weeks has also been abyssmal. Some highlights and examples:

60 card decks being less consistent and having mana issues than 80 card decks that have perfect mana curving, perfect cards for the matchup, and even multiple combo cards that are 2-ofs without any searching or card draw at all? Check

2 Chainwhirlers overpowering and being just as prevalent and drawn in a match as 4 Selfless Spirit + 8 Lords that counter them? Check. (2 > 12)

Out of 15 players, in a Swiss, being paired in the first round of play to my only bad matchup, with that player piloting that specific deck for the first time this season and not his previous ones (which also hilariously coincided with the first time I joined it myself in that season)? Check.

Oh, I almost forgot. The last time I played this deck (also the first time, so last Underdog) I had a game where I had no Cascade cards in the top 25 cards of the deck. That occurrence is also less than 1 percent, and I couldn't even play 3 matches with the deck before such a thing would happen. The cascade card, which would've been lethal, was of course only one card down after losing. Already off to a great start!

I used to think that my habitual and abysmally terrible luck in Tribal (except for one topdeck in one game) was a tragedy. Now I realize it is a comedy. ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
