Round 1- Against Shamans(?). I comboed out turn 4 and turn 2, boarding in Apostle's Blessing for Lightning Bolt and other red removal.
Round 2- Against UW control. Game 1 he counters my combo and puts my Illusionist under an O-ring, then kills me with a shrouded Sphinx. Game 2 he taps out and I negate his 2nd Relic of Progenitus (he cycled the first.) He concedes before he sees the combo. Game 3 I put the combo kill on the board through counterspells but I wait until the next turn to power the Dread Return through. He almost taps out for Akroma and I am able to Spell Pierce his Dissipate for the win. Round 3- Living End. Game 1 I keep a hand with only Kor and no tutors or draw. He kills me with a Living End. Game 2 I combo off turn 3 with plenty of protection and a double tutor hand. Game 3 I negate his Damping Matrix and combo off turn 4 when he taps out. Round 4 Top 4- Living End (again.) Game 1 I have the combo but no disruption- I go for it and he Jund Charms me, exiling my graveyard and leaving me with no outs. Game 2 I don't have the counter for Damping Matrix, I'm stuck with a bunch of 1/1s. I counter his first cascade into Living End with Silence, but he has a second one. In hindsight, I should have boarded out the graveyard plan and boarded in my Leveler! |
