COMMENTS |
62 cards in the main was a mistake as I rushed to put things together at the start of the event.
Rnd 1 vs GR Undying Howl. Wow, who'd expect to see both players with Wild Cantors? This match came down to who drew more Howls. I drew zero. Rnd 2 vs MBC. G1 my opp gambled on a one land hand full of 2mc spells, but took a few turns to find the 2nd land. I was rolling by then. G2 I mulliganed into a slow start. An Edict-type spell slowed me even more. Then my opp played two Quicksands when two swamps would have been much better for him. I was able to build a massive hexproof dude and crush for the win. Rnd 3 vs MBC, but different. G1 I mulligan into a 3 land hand with little action. Then I floor and die with something like ten lands drawn in the first 16 cards. Win some that way, lose some that way. G2 I mulligan into a two forest hand and some ok action. He has two Edict-type spells to set me back. Then I draw 5 burns spells and no red mana sources (including Cantor). Win some that way, lose some that way. So, some obvious mistakes in my build, not just the 62 cards. Given how some tough luck tarnish my win/loss record, I think this deck has potential. Needs some work for sure. |
