There is a value loop between restoration specialist and the mending of dominaria. 28 lands is a bit heavy, but I like it that way. Besides that you hope to get all the correct tools in your topdeck/graveyard/dig spells to keep the game within arms reach. Eventually 20 lands are on your board and thats when the game really turns on and your opponent can't possibly keep up with the value.
This is a similar deck to what I ran before GRN rotation. Some things that made my deck really good was some value artifacts in KLD like filigree familiar and skysovereign. The tools that pennydreadful brings is the sin collectors, which work really well with the dig and recursion package, but I'm still worried about putting pressure on control decks. Another card that was super helpful against aggro was shalai voice of plenty, and true believer isn't the same as he doesn't have 4 toughness, doesn't give other creatures hexproof, and isn't a mana sink for when you get to 25 mana on the board. Oh well I can't play that standard forever. |
